TehRiddles
So For some reason, every time I enter Chorrol, it loads, goes black after the loading screens and does the door sound before popping up with the typical "Oblivion has stopped working" error. Now this is a newish character and I have already entered Chorrol before with them with no problems. I am currently doing the main quest and this happened right after going to Weynon Priory for the first time (tried popping in to town before going to Kvatch) and after taking Martin to the Cloud Ruler Temple. Now while trying to turn on and off a few of the most recent mods I can remember downloading I noticed that while loading up the save there was the yellow diamond ! marker for when there are missing textures, right at my feet. I have no idea what the item was meant to be and loading up a second time there was a new one right next to it and ever since its not even there at all. I mention this because while looking for an answer someone who had problems similar to mine said they reinstalled some texture packs and it worked though didn't specify what. Of the mods I installed, none of them are meant affect anything in Chorrol itself (after going to Chorrol for the first time on this character I installed, the Oblivion Mount )Project (or whatever its called, lets you ride wolves and lions), Oldwolf's female Xivali + red striped texture (Only Xivali mod I have and they don't appear in Chorrol) and "Get Wet" (Makes water drips on people in the rain, installed after the first time the crash happened) Anyone got an idea? LegoManIAm94
I had this problem too on Xbox. But I was in Bravil and I couldn't leave the city. Try to do a quest.
TehRiddles
Well I've completed the quests to rescue Martin from Kvatch, the one to take him to Weynon Priory and then the Cloud Ruler Temple and even the Bruma Mages Guild recommendation before finally trying again to see if it was a quest specific bug. Sadly no progress, I haven't checked the other towns yet to see if they are the same though if I remember I will do them tomorrow
bben46
Usually when I see that particular type of crash, I suspect that it comes from some mod you removed that added something to the city. What ever it was it is in the save game and the game tries to load it. Minor changes usually don't cause this. Look for something that makes a game changing change - like a change to a building a new building that was used in a quest, a new NPC that was required for a quest. Just changing the color of a wall or what an NPC wears will not cause the problem. First, try going back to a very early save and see if you can enter the city. If you can look to see what you changed in the city between the saves. OBMM has a good feature for this - it can show every mod that was active for each save you have ever made. List the mods that are different. Then eliminate them one at a time to find which one causes the problem.
TehRiddles
I've solved it, it was this old creature summon spell I got a while before the crashes. I remembered using it once before and it popped up a message saying something about me leaving the cell I cast the spell in. Anyways, I used it in Chorrol on this annoying NPC the last time I went in there. All I did now was turn the mod off, go in and save, turn the mod back on again and everything was back to normal. Thanks for the help
