Load order help

Recommended Posts

There are a few mods I cannot load because of a strange problem that comes up, when I move away from the location I loaded i can't access menus or the pipboy and if the sounds all disappear. And in general i'd love to know if my load order could or should be tweaked to make it run with fewer crashes and overrides.

This is my load order after attempting to make it conform to a guide I read:

EDIT:

Nevermind, it looks like you are using FOIP after all. Sorry!

It's ok man, there's a LOT to go through there so it's understandable. I think I have the major mods in the correct order because I checked the recommended load order on the nexus pages, it's all the other ones that may need re-organising. I'm also contemplating installing FOOK2 but I don't thnk there's a patch for it yet to work with the new FWE release. Is it worth installing and using it instead of FWE ?

"Is it worth installing and using it instead of FWE ?"

I don't think so, I though fook2 was very cool but it made the game to easy, FWE on the other hand makes the game much harder.

Fair enough, that's one of the things that I love about FWE so i'll wait till a compatibility patch comes out so all I will get is the new weapons etc. Does anyone know why I have the issue where I leave the loading area and all the menus disable and I get huge exclamation points everwhere. I understand that usually means there's a texture problem etc or mods conflicting, but I checked through a few that did it and they didn't conflict with any of my active mods so i'm at a loss as to why it's doing this.

It's missing textures, best bet is to manually copy the textures for the mods your using to get them in place.

But the thing is it conflicts with my other mods where the textures are present even when the new mod doesn't requier any :s For instance, I installled the slower backpedalling mod which are all new entries and scripts and to the best of my knowledge does not require any textures to work; apart from the default animations which shouldn't interfere with menus etc I think.

What objects are the exclamations on? That should tell you what mod is missing textures, each exclamation is a missing texture of some kind (could be a nif file to I think). For example if you added a mod that adds new soda to the game and suddenly soda has a red exclamation, those are the textures that are missing. You are running so many mods it's kinda hard to speculate.

Oh I see it's a menu problem. I'd copy all the folders from the menu mods into the data directory manually, something is missing. I run darnUI, and it appears to have several files associated with it that need to be in place. From my personal experience FOMM doesn't always copy everything so when I have a problem I copy the files myself.

It's difficult to describe because when it happens I tend to just shut it down and turn the new mod off. What it tends to do is render the pipboy useless and all menus, even if the new mod adds all new entries. The best way to tell you is to show you really, if you can be bothered to watch I'll make a quick video and upload it to youtube to show you what happens. Though my FPS isn't amazing and with FRAPS running and then the audio/video problems that come with uploading youtube it may be a tad unwatchable; i'll give it a go though.

Hi Rookie,

1) Move up your Unofficial Fallout ESPs right below the last ESM, always.

2) Cube should be considered a standalone mod. Don't use it with any other mod!

3) Might not help in this special instance, but should be done so you wont get other problems.

Best :)

Olaf
