RebelliousMind
So, i downloaded the "Natural bodies all in one" mod, placed the .override file in a subfolder (i named it "naturalbods") of the "override" folder and then now created a new override packet and installing it using the DAO mod manager (see pic of my progress so far). What now? Where and how do i choose from all the different textures and so on? I have no clue beyond what i have already done and what i have done so far, shows little change within the game. I take it i have not done all i need to, as i know you are supposed to be able to choose which of the many textures within the mod, that you want to use in the game. Also, isn't there supposed to be an in-game menu for choosing mods? No? Any help to get this first mod install up and running, will be much appreciated, thanks :) I'm running Win 7 x64 and have the digital deluxe edition through Steam. http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/6607/daomodmanager.jpg
Tikkidew
Hi and welcome to the forums. All you need to do is right click the "Natural Bodies all in one" file or "Naturalbods" as you have it (under installed overrides), and select "config". Hope that helps ;) TIP: You don't need to keep closing your game when changing options, just go back to the "Main Menu" then ALT+TAB to your desktop, make a change in DAO-Modmanager, then go back to DA:O and reload your last save. :)
DarkeWolf
all the points that could be discussed about natural bodies here- http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=180608 good luck :)
RebelliousMind
Things is, "config" is grayed out. Does this provide you with any clues as to what i might have done wrong, or missed? Should i via DAO mod manager, place the .override in both the override folder in the "packages" AND "modules" folder trees, or just in the one in the "packages" folder tree? Either way, both ways results in a grayed out config, leaving me with little to do. Also, i want to mention that where it says "drop your files here", i'm not able to drop the .override file there until i select one of the two subfolders (named after whatever i called the packet) created by the manager in the override folders in the folder trees to the left (see pic). Ok, thanks DarkeWolf, will do in the future :) http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/6941/dropyourfileshere.jpg
DarkeWolf
Ok, well first of all, let me tell you that for your first time, you really jumped into the fire, so to speak. Natural bodies is probably one of the most.... interesting... mods to install. the .override file goes directly into damodmanager. open up damodmanager after you have removed the override file from it's rar compression. now with damodanager open drag and drop the all in one.override file directly into the window for damodmanager. from there, everything is pointed out in the thread that I posted in before ;) Other mods will not be this difficult to figure out, I promise ;)
RebelliousMind
Actually, this one was a lot easier then most, after your help that is. What happened was, i had attempted to drag it into the wrong box in DAO Mod manager ^^ Now i tried dragging it into the "installed overrides" box and it installed perfectly, also allowing me to now access the config. Thanks a bunch!
DarkeWolf
I'm glad to hear that you got it working. :) And not a problem, glad that we could help out :) Have you tried damodder? For the majority of mods, it can very much simplify the process of installing mods. Most of them you just drag and drop into damodder, and it does all the rest. Some of them you have to change from .rar or .7z to .zip but that's not very difficult to do. some of them do still need to be installed manually, because a rare few of them don't actually go into the "Override" folder, but those are rare. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=286 damodder
