trevose
All right here's the deal. I got so used to the Xbox360 controller on Oblivion (a friend left his here for a few weeks), that I'm completely useless with a keyboard now that I have it on PC. So I go pick up a 360 USB controller to save a bit of sanity, and ran into a bit of a problem... As I'm trying to setup the conroller (in oblivion options, so that they are similar to 360), it comes to my attention that I can't seem to use the analog sticks. Pressing in the analog sticks yields appropriate response, but using them directionally does not appear to work in the setup menu. The same thing happens with my other USB controller with the same setup (2 analog, 12 buttons uncluding sticks and start/select, and d-pad) Basically my question is whether this is somehow fixable, if I just can't use the analog controller, or if I'm simply just doing something stupid. Thanks in advance-Trevose
Cyborg16
Think I can help there. A joystick/joypad or similar usually looks to the computer like a collection of buttons (a non-analogue stick may look like four or eight buttons) and axes. The setup menu you're looking at is only really for assigning buttons; there isn't a GUI for using the axes. Instead, have a look at the Oblivion_default.ini file in the game dir with a text editor (search for joystick). Mine has the following for joysticks:iJoystickMoveFrontBack=2iJoystickMoveLeftRight=1fJoystickMoveFBMult=1.0000fJoystickMoveLRMult=1.0000iJoystickLookUpDown=6iJoystickLookLeftRight=3fJoystickLookUDMult=0.0020fJoystickLookLRMult=0.0020 Looks like there are four axes allowed here, each with a multiplier for sensitivity. The numbers identify which axes is which but you'll have to try out different values. It doesn't look like there's anything to specify which joystick/pad device to use, so if you have more than one you might have to unplug the others to use the right one. Hope this helps; if you're still stuck PM me.
