Leodoidao
Greetings. I have been retexturing some of Oblivion rocks with ice textures in order to do some icebergs, now I see they have some annoying shady surfaces (they are darker, regardless of the texture) in some edges and at their base. :ninja: Is it possible to diminish/remove this effect with Nifskope??
Vagrant0
Is it possible to diminish/remove this effect with Nifskope?? :sick:That shading is part of the vertex color settings of the mesh. Normally, you can only remove this when importing/exporting the mesh from a 3d program. However there might be some options to adjust this in nifscope. First off, adjusting the material properties of the emissive color to being more white, can reduce the appearance of these shadows, or even allow these areas to act as a means of adding a variation in shading. However, this may have some unwanted effects on the rest of the object. If you're feeling creative/adventurous, there are some other settings that you could explore within the NiVertexColorProperty in particular the Vertex mode. I have not tested changing this part of anything outside of nifscope, but it looks like it might allow for some unusual options for highlighting and tinting various edges of an object. Leodoidao
Just did it--- changed the "emissive" color in the material property. Would not figure out how to do it without your advice. As you predicted, the rest of the mesh looked whiter--- but actually, it fits like a glove to my purposes. Once again---Thanks a lot!!!!! Monkeyuncle8
if you are talking about the brown stuff just go under data vertex shading and change the yes to no
