Halororor
So, finally a vampire movie without sparkly, hormonal teenies. I actually didn't have much hope for this movie, as I wanted to watch Alice in Wonderland, but was too late for it and opted for this instead. So, a quick rundown of the movie:Vampires basically populate the world like humans used to. They capture humans to use them as 'cattle' for fresh blood. Human population starts dwindling, so does the supply of blood. Naturally, the blood farming corporations start looking for an alternative to blood, and the human refugees search for a cure. One of the more interesting vampire films I've seen recently, with a very unique twist to the genre. The story (read: not storyline specifically, but background and setting) is totally awesome. As for the movie itself, the action was a bit average, acting was okay, some characters were fitting, some not. The movie had its moments, but overall it feels a bit like a missed opportunity. This story didn't elaborate enough on certain elements, especially not on how the world came to be the way it was. It could have benefitted greatly from being longer, having multiple movies or rather being a tv series. It did, however, have a creature design (the sub-siders), that was both frighteningly creepy, as well as pitiful. A creature that would make you feel sorry for it as it kills you. All in all, not bad, but not 30 Days all over again. I recommend it to all fans of the vampire genre. And by this I mean real vampires, not wusses. Spoiler alert:Spoiler alert:Spoiler alert: Also, I just have to say it, the humans find a cure which turns the vampire protagonist into Han Solo. :3 Also, please don't reply saying you hated it without a reason, just because you think you are to cool to like movies like this. You know exactly who you are. *hug*
MonsterHunterMaster
I'm sure my brother and I are going to watch this movie when it comes to cinema in austria. We're big fans of movies like this, you know, vampires and all that stuff (except those pu*$y movies like twilight of course)... So was the movie scary, I mean, were there some shock moments or stuff like that?
Halororor
A few fright moments and a very creepy scene with a certain monster. Other than that, not really. The movie itself wasn't all that awesome, but it's setting and premise was off the charts. It was a totally unique twist on the genre. Had they just done a bit more for it it could have been so much better. As it stands, a prequel depicting how the world came to be the way it is would be amazing. jaysus
loved it :) the best thing bout that movie was imo how they portrayed the darkside of human kind and projected it onto those vampires, aka the treatment of subsiders and how we often treat people in need it was also quite refreshing to see humans as the minority once again overall a really good movieaction, romance, suspense, social criticism, slight horror (really just slight)... the all in one package for a nice eve
