kororian
Hi guys! I was wondering if I could get some help. I recently got some Fallout fever and wanted to play the game again. I played for a few hours with no problems. Then I got a freeze, and shrugged it off as a fluke. But then the crashes got more frequent, until now when I try and use VATS the game either freezes or CTDs. I am using the game with very few mods and am unaware as to why this would be happening. My load order is: Fallout3.esm Anchorage.esm ThePitt.esm BrokenSteel.esm PointLookout.esm Zeta.esm CRAFT.esm CALIBR.esm FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm DCInteriors_ComboEdition.esm FO3 Wanderers Edition - Alternate Travel.esp Fellout-BrokenSteel.esp Fellout-Anchorage.esp Fellout-Full.esp DarNifiedUIF3.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.esp Fellout-pipboylight.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.esp Fellout-PointLookout.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp Fellout-Zeta.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers (automatics only).esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.espI have a decent rig, that can play the majority of the latest games on Ultra even with a few graphics mods. I ran LOOT to sort my load order, and tried to keep it simple. I have not changed the load order since I started playing. ( I did try disabling one of the "Optional Restore Tracer" options but it just started crashing and freezing more, so I reverted to a save where I had not made the change.) I'd be happy to restart one more time, if I could just know I'd be playing a (relatively) stable build. I don't at all mind the occasional crash or freeze after a few hours and I save often. But at this frequency it is game breaking. Could it be that since I started the game with both Tracer options enabled that my save game is permanently bugged? I also have enabled the multi core option, and manipulated multiple lines in the ini that supposedly help improve performance and stability. ( I am sorry for being vague about those changed, I implemented them over a year ago and don't remember exactly what they were but perhaps I could look those up if you need to know). Here are some PC specs: Overall General Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Central Processor Intel® Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz Graphics Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Video Memory 0 Byte Storage Total Memory 15.95 GB Free Memory 12.16 GB Total Hard disk 2086.49 GB Free Hard disk 518.73 GB I appreciate any help you guys can give me! If you need any other information, I'll be happy to retrieve it, thank you.
kororian
Seem to have been able to fix this. I set the program to run in admin mode, and it seems to have fixed the issue. Been able to play four-five hours at a time without any problems now.
