Leodoidao
Greetings. I am finishing the beta version of my next mod, it will have a landmass 2/3 the size of the Shivering Isles. The pre-release will be available in 1 week. I have managed to generate LOD for my landmass with the Heightmap editor, I was unable to make it in the landscape editor. Questions: 1- There is a folder inside the "textures" folder which is called "generated LOD". Do I have to pack it in my mod? 2- Why isn´t there something similar in the "meshes" folder? Some mods like Anequina have their LOD folders, am I missing something?? 3- Maybe I´ll have to change the landscape--- In case I do so, is it possible to generate new LOD and overwrite the existing ones? Leodoidao
I´ve found a tutorial which helps it all... no need to answer questions 1 and 2, but still in doubt about 3 and... how do I know what are my mod´s LOD files (ALL them start with prefixes such as 60, 98506, etc... is there a way to know which prefix belongs to which landmass? Vagrant0
1. Yes, you will need to include the textures in the Data\Textures\LandscapeLOD\Generated folder with your mod. 2. The LOD mesh should be found in \Data\Meshes\Landscape\LOD . If there is no folder, or no files for your worldspace in that folder, it means that you did not generate the LOD meshes from within the heightmap editor (don't save the .esp). 3. The prefix for the files relate to the ID of that worldspace. 60 is for Tamriel, and these should be excluded. You can tell which is yours by opening the file in any texture viewer that can support DDS format (the image may be upside down, this is normal) . All the files related to a worldspace will have the same prefix.
Leodoidao
OK, now ONE LAST QUESTION: In case I decide to re-work my landmass again, as I generate LOD again will this overwrite the former files successfully without wrecking the lod?
