TheUnknown87
Hello, in Dragon Age it's very annoying that in comparison to the background music the fighting music is soooo loud. In consequence I constantly have to change the volume up and down. When I change the volume in that way that the fighting music is ok, I cannot hear the background music anymore :( Is there any mod or solution for that issue? Thanks! DarkeWolf
there should be options for this in the game options menu. Either under Audio or Sounds. Sorry, I'm at clas right now, and cant open the game to show you the direct path, or the actual settings names.
DarkeWolf
Ok, home now. I just checked it, there's a setting for music, but not the combat music. there's one for combat effects, I'll play around with that and see what it it does. if that's not it, I'll take a look thru the settings files and see what's there. Wow! Thats really LAME that the game engine doesnt include any kind of setting for the combat music! And the music files are in a format that I dont know of, so editing them to a lower volume isnt something I'd be able to do :(Sorry man, I tried :(
TheUnknown87
So what is the format of the sound file? Maybe I can find some software to change the volume in that file?
DarkeWolf
All of the sound files are packed into .fev or .fsb format.I found a little bit of info about those formats (in relation to a different game) here http://demigod.wikia.com/wiki/Sound_filesbut so far, nothing on how to export them to a format that's usable. I did learn one lesson tho, when trying to work with these files. IF you try to export them using the toolset, REMOVE them from the toolset folder in your override folder BEFORE trying to play the game. IE move them to another location on your hard drive, or to another type of storage media. The toolset exports without dependancies, and if you leave them in there when you try to play you get some really lovely sound errors in game. In my case, I tried to export some of the character dialogs, and resulted in my characters sounding like a cheap generic answering machine.
