Non-Persistent Missing Mesh/Tex

My game runs perfectly fine. At times though, meshes or textures go missing, and the only fix is to restart Fallout. Usually it's a missing mesh for an empty whiskey bottle/ texture flicker for armor/purple NPCs. I've toggled invalidation on and off, to no avail. No meshes or textures are missing from their folders, as they appear again after a restart. Is there any permanent solution to this? By the way, if you want to see my mod load order list, please do ask. :D

I've had similar problems in the past, especially in the case of hair/eye mods. It was *usually* fixed with an overwrite from that mod's files (extract/copy again).

Of course, personal experiences are exceedingly differing. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

How many mods do you have enabled. I have seen times where when I get to about 100 I start having random missing meshes and textures. Disabling something, or combining plugins to get below the magic number fixes it. I have no idea what the root cause is as the maximum number of plugins is something like 254.

Total active plugins: 202

Total plugins: 422

Does this mean I should disable a chunk of my mods? (Or can I combine them somehow to lower the number...?)

Im going to try the replace mesh fix and see if it works. The meshes go missing on vanilla objects too though.

Edit: Sometimes instead of a missing mesh or texture, the body part is completely invisible!

I am guessing you are having the same issue. To test, you can try disabling a few and see if the issue goes away. If you confirm, use the FO3 Plugin Utility to merge some. For example, I have combined all clothing/armor plugins into one .esp which helps a lot.

So I've disabled ONE mod (The Telescope.esp) and it fixes my problems.

The only thing left for me to do is merge the mods together. Do I do this in the GECK or in Fo3 edit? And if so, how? From what I remember, making a merged patch (manually or automatically) still requires the uncombined Esms to be loaded.

FO3 Plugin Utility is how I do it. Search on Nexus.

Aha, I've found it. Just a few last questions, how are you supposed to be able to select Multiple esps in one load rather than choosing them one by one? Also, can I just go ahead and merge every esm+esp in my list and disregard the rest of those 200+ modules?

Hold down control for multi select. I wouldn't merge everything like you're suggesting. Even if it works, have fun waiting while the thing loads in GECK.

Ah, alrighty. I suppose I'll group the mods by category. Thanks for the help! :D
