Alsark
So the general idea is that I have a desktop at home that is running a ton of HD/retexture mods, but I have a laptop that can't really handle that. Still, with Steam Cloud Saving I'd like to be able to play my save file on my laptop. I also have some that are in a "gray area", I guess. Perfect Whiterun is like an HD mod but does a lot to change Whiterun... would this need to be ported over? I also have some little mods like ones that add more trees/grass, birds, shooting stars, footprints, sounds, etc. - I'd think I wouldn't need these, either. Now I do have some mods like SKSE, immersive armor, immersive weapons, extra NPCS, etc. I know that these will need to be ported over. Of course I've made a back-up save file and am willing to test it out, but I just wanted to get a quick assessment from the community who may have more experience to see if it would be worth my time or not. Thanks. Edited July 7, 2014 by Alsark
TimeLadyKatie
The only safe bet is porting all mods over. But there are some things you really, absolutely must do if you don't want to do that. You'll have to follow the uninstall instructions for any mod you don't before moving the save. You also still run the risk of major save file bloat and other problems associated with removing mods mid-play. Also, when you first boot up at the new location I'd open the console and run ClearInvalidRegistrations 1 for good measure, it'll combat the bloat problem by cleaning up OnUpdate checks left behind by mods that you've abandoned. LordAndSavior
Don't know if you'd want to try it but I think Steam In-Home Streaming might be a good bet.
