Cardboard38
So, just to keep things simple, I'll start explaining this problem by telling you what I have. The steam GOTY edition of Oblivion, which came with Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. I have the latest version of Oblivion, and I already have OBSE installed. This is a picture of my OBMM currently.http://i.imgur.com/N9oEfG4.png When trying to start Oblivion, it crashes to the desktop as soon as I hit "play". Am I missing any required patches/mods?And do I need to modify my load order/get rid of anything? The game runs fine with I deactivate everything but the DLC and base game. mhahn123
CTD is most commonly caused by missing masters. In other words a plugin looking for a master it is dependent on and that is not installed. I see a lot of patches there for DLCs that you don't have installed. Although they are all unchecked and shouldn't cause crashing as long as they are not active. What about that SLWA? Does it perhaps require something that you haven't installed?

There is a requirement for the 1.2.0.416 patch, but I was told I wouldn't need it since that's the version I have. I'm assuming I may need the unofficial patch for Oblivion as well? Cardboard38
Apologies for double post, but I wanted this to get attention. I HAVE solved the problem, and I was just missing a few patches. Note to anyone who reads this: Get EVERY official AND unofficial patch, regardless of whether or not you think you'll need them. The only instance where you won't need a patch is if you don't have the DLC that goes along with it, and you DO need the base Oblivion patches.
