mattlittlej
1. Why London? If you're not from the UK, have you secured the necessary visas you'd need to work there? If you don't have one, are you certain you'd be able to find an employer willing to pay for your visas, fees, etc? (I looked at English universities for my PhD and even getting a long-term student visa was a headache). 2. What industry? 3. As for the CV, follow this format....____________________________ NameContact Info (usually just phone number and email address) Mission Statement Education (with campus location, graduation date, degree obtained, and field of study (ex: Bachelor of Science, Biology, May 2009))Include honors, grants, etc. if you have any; only include what scholarships you were awarded for your first job application, nobody cares after that Work History (Newest job to Oldest) (Make a "master CV/resume" with ALL your work history and then make versions that omit jobs that would not be relevant to your current position (ex: your high school yard mowing gig would be a waste of space if you were applying for an IT job))Each work history item should have the employer, location, supervisor, and HR contact information. Also include your job description, duties performed, skills, how many people you maned (if applicable), awards & honors, etc. DO NOT say why you left unless the job specifically asks and always find a way to turn a negative into a positive. Other skillsThis is where you'd put languages, software aptitude, and other experience Volunteering & MembershipsIf you belong to any professional organizations (AAAS, fraternity/sorority, city hall, etc) or volunteer groups (habitat for humanity, meals on wheels, etc) then these go here. Also include any leadership or managerial role you may serve. ReferencesShould be self explanitory
