Tell me what you think about this

That a pretty nasty beat. The whole unique thing is working out for you 'cause it sounds original. Coming from someone who scours Youtube and Soundcloud for beats. Trust me, there's a lot of people (some I know) who just like copy DJ Mustard's sexy beats. Just keep what you're doing, getting better as you produce. The one you linked was good, it could use a lil bass in the back, like Schoolboy Q's Studio or Tinashe's 2 On. Try listening to Flying Lotus for that bass sound (he's kinda more like Trap tho). Omito Beats is good too. But yea, keep doing what you're doing and put those beats on Soundcloud!

I made a few sample-based arrangements back in the day, and prefer the 'crunchy' and dynamic sounds of old breakbeats (DJ Shadow fan here). Understand that's a different genre, but I still like all kinds of instrumental beats. That said, I dig the originality of Bangin' Beat - rather, the fact that it was built from scratch without samples. Has a menacing keyboard overlay too.

If you're looking for constructive criticism, my suggestion would be to take the underlying beat through more changes, like add a more minimal bridge at some point. I'm talking about just the drum beat, not the melody and other instruments. I would say make it sound less 'polished' from a fidelity standpoint, but then we're talking about a different beat altogether :)

Take my input with a grain of salt: the last audio software I touched was Reason back in 2002 ;D
