devdrago12
How many mods can you download into 1 FO3 game? I have 293 active plug-ins, and now i can not press esc button, or open things, (I belive this and the virus caused my problem last time) (for those who don't remember or didn't read my issue, I had Vista 2010 virus a while back. I thought this caused my problem.... It may have been the fact I used too many mods.) is there any way to comine mods or anything as a bypass, if this IS indeed causing my issues with the esc button? Thank you, Devdrago
pkleiss
You can have 255 active mods at any time. I would think that is enough for anybody, but I guess not. You can always de-activate ones while you play others. But, ya, there are ways of merging mods. You should check out the FO3Edit manual and check out section 6.4 Merging a Plug-in into another Plug-in or Master.

bben46
There is another lesser known limit. The total number of mods in the data folder, whether active or not. This is in both Morrowind and Oblivion, so I guess it will be in FO3 also (same game engine). That limit is around 400. The easiest way around it is to move any unused mods out of the data folder entirely. Make a holding folder outside of the game folder and put them there if you want to keep them. It also looks like you installed a pile of mods without testing to see if they worked or not. :wallbash: That's not usually a good idea as you will waste more time trying to figure out what mods are causing problems than if you had installed one at a time and tested before adding another.
