tgpardu
What, exactly, do you do with these things once you have a pile of them? Also, Is there a good use for Hearts of Order once you've completed Shivering Isles? Thanks!
Megatarius
If you click on the Sigil Stone in your inventory, you will be given the enchant item screen. I believe the spell effect is random, but I could be wrong. I've only ever used one. (The Kvatch Quest one). So basically, it's a free enchantment. WoogieMonster
The type of stone you receive when you take it from the sigil tower is random, but it's effects are listed in your inventory. The main idea of using them is that when you use the stones to enchant items the power of the enchantment is supposed to be greater than what you could accomplish with a soul gem at an alter. And you can use the sigil stones anywhere, no need for an alter.
3rdtryguy
The higher your level when you close a gate, the better the stones will be, giving you the ability to easily enchant, for free, some fairly highpowered items. Each stone has defensive and offensive properties. You only get one or the other, depending on whether you use it on a weapon or an item of armor or clothing.
tgpardu
Thanks for the replies. So, I guess if I finished the Oblivion Gates at a lower level, I kinda screwed myself. Maybe should play it through again... :yucky: Any info on the hearts of order?
Pronam
Eat them! You'll notice. (No, nothing bad happens.) and you can open special chests with them. The UESP Wiki is your friend btw :).
tgpardu
Does anyone know when, exactly the Sigil stones decide which enchantment they will impart? Is it when you take them from the tower, or when you enchant an item? Basically, If you are looking for a particular enchantment, which would you save prior to? Thanks! Pronam
When you 'pick' the sigil stone from its position it'll add a random chose sigil stone from the list according to your level. So at that moment it's already decided what the enchantment is.
bben46
Save just before grabbing the stone. Then if you don't like the result go back to that save and try again.
