spolen Posted July 10, 2014 Share Posted July 10, 2014 I was recently playing oblivion and noticed that my carry weight seemed a bit high, so I decided to remove some stuff and free up some space, but it was still a bit high. after checking my active effects and seeing that i had no strange effects on me I decided to empty my inventory of everything, and now even with an empty inventory my carry weight is at 94/325. i have a number of mods installed, but they havent bothered it before. DrakeTheDragon Posted July 10, 2014 Share Posted July 10, 2014 According to scripted effects and other features used regularly it can happen your stats get messed up rather permanently at any point. Sometimes it won't even need a script for this to happen.There's features to fix your stats, like encumbrance for example, back to normal values shipping with mods like the Unofficial Oblivion Patch or similar. DrakeTheDragon Posted July 11, 2014 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Installing the UOP alone will not automatically fix your stats per se. I wrote with the UOP should be shipping a feature for this. It'll add an item into your inventory activating which will open a tools menu popup for several different maintenance tasks.If I recall correctly, fixing your stats and/or attributes was among them. spolen Posted July 11, 2014 Author Share Posted July 11, 2014 Yea, UOP added a key object listed under the misc section i believe, it just increased my max to 419 so now i'm at 94/419 instead of 94/325. I was hoping there was a way to just lower the encumberence back to 0, but at least I can still carry the proper amount now. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Maskar Posted July 11, 2014 Share Posted July 11, 2014 You might have picked up some non-playable items. Most likely a shield or weapon. When an npc drops a non-playable shield/weapon you can pick it up, but it becomes invisible in your inventory. Making a clean save could fix this. Also if by clean save you mean a save other than auto save, I save often in case of crashes, always to a new save too. EDIT: I have ended up uninstalling oblivion to make room for skyrim, so I cant currently test it ATM, but I intend on reinstalling again some time soon (within a couple weeks).
