I run into trouble with making a mod..

Recommended Posts

So, my problem is that I used Tamriel-Resource Pack in my mod and now I wanted to publish it BUT if someone else wanted to make it work, they need that Tam-res Pack too! The question is that HOW am I able to find all meshes, textures etc... that i used in my mod and place them in .bsa file. I have BSAcommander that makes those files but I need to find all resources i used, without putting whole 3gb of unused resources with it too?

And another problem, they will need TamRes.esm too if they want to use it. How do I remove that?

Thanks!

TES4Files is a great free downloadable utility program for modders. You can use it to automatically search for and gather almost all of the files needed to upload your mod. It grabs the .eps, meshes, textures, sounds, distantlod, and whatever you have. It can also generate BSA files. The only thing you have to manually add is the readme file and any other text documents, photos, or extras.

I don't have the mod you are talking about and don't know about it, but if all you used is meshes and textures from it, and you made your mod as an .esp, then I think TES4Files will make it into a complete stand-alone mod. But I don't know if you used any scripting, object placement, or other things that are dependent on the esm.

If you are not sure that your new mod will work by itself, you could package it, then disable your mod and the .esm by moving them to another directory or renaming them and rename the mesh and texture folders they are dependent on so the program can't find them. Then you could install your packaged mod to pretend you are a downloader and see if everything works.

Guys, THANKS!! It works! Thank you so much, I apriciate (im sure thats speleld wrong) your help, this solved my problem.

Thanks again!

I thing though, it still says that you need TesRes.esm but I tested it without it, and it worked perfectly. I wonder does it work with other too.

If I simply add TamRes.esm with my mod?

I tried to remove it from masterfile list, but it did not work at all.

anyway, here it is: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30532
