Novice's guide to making Mods

I want so badly to make mods but I can't even seem to download the utilities right. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I'm so freaking frustrated I feel like bashing my computer.

I can't get the .nif files to show up in the Import menu. I've downloaded everything I was supposed to. I used the Blender installation instructions and that did help me some but

I'm still not able to get the Oblivion files to load onto Blender. What the heck am I doing wrong? I really wish modders who make these utilities would realize a lot of us who are trying to

use and install them for the first time are totally baffled by the whole process. Why don't they just emerge Python, Blender, nifscripts, etc.. all together in one file and give line by line instructions

on what folder path we should put in and exactly what we need to do step by step. Because just clicking the next buttons aren't getting me anywhere. I've tried changing the path like TesNexus' Blender installation instructions told me to do. I did that. So, why aren't the files showing up in Blender? Somebody please help me. I've been just trying to install the stupid Blender software as well as alllll the others that go with it for the past 24 hours and I still haven't gotten it. Please, treat me like I'm a freaking retart who's never used a computer before and give me a patronizingly dumbed down explainations of each step. Please, my sanity lingers on your help. I must make mods! I have to!

I've looked all over online to find something that really, really explains it to me but I can't find anything. I only find the ones that tell you to click Next, next, Install, Finish. It doesn't work.

I now have to install Sip and some other software but it won't install!!!!! I have to use the command line to configure.py..here are the directions they give you to install this software... file:///C:/DOCUME~1/ADMINI~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/Rar$EX08.813/sip-4.10.1/doc/html/installation.html

is it me or is that written in Japanese. (no offense to the Japanese people) It makes no sense whatsoever. Everytime I try to put in a command it says that no file exists. Could I pay someone to come over to my house and install this crap for me? Please?

Delete every version of blender, python and pyffi as it's likely you mixed them up and it's better to start with a clean slate to avoid confusions in the future. Then download a package from the link UK47 gave you and ignore any things during the installation (Like blender saying to download Python.) but just follow the install course given at the filepage which is:

 

Python->Blender->PyFFi->Nifscripts using the ones inside that package you downloaded. They programs follow the way of a 'working combination'. Downloading all files separately and installing them usually fails unless you're well known which will work with each other.

Okay, thanks guys/gals. :D

I finally got the .nif files to show up but now I have to figure out how to make the Oblivion files load.

I did make a couple of mods using Tes Construction Set. 3 magic spells that got me my "summon dark seducer, golden saint and the sewn up flesh guy. Yay!

And I inserted some books I needed into my game so I can "learn" skills.

I haven't tried anything really big yet.

Thank you again for your help. I really appreciate it. This isn't as easy as I thought it was going to be but I think I'll get it eventually. :teehee:
