Pixl8edAnarchy
Hello good sirs of the internet. I was wondering if, as a first of my forum discussions, you could help me with a small issue I am running into. See, I'm a big Elder Scrolls fan and my friend let me borrow his copy of the GOTY edition of Oblivion, so I could mess around with it and play with the mods available for it. I got it from him just today and already I ran into a problem. :/ For some odd reason, my computer won't let me install it. When I try the option 'open or run' on the OblivionLauncher.exe or even setup.exe, it simply opens up a box saying "Could not write license data! Please contact Customer Support for further instructions." Granted I do have Vista, but I know my admin's password already, so it TECHNICALLY should not be an issue. This is just simply frustrating me to no end, and I simply implore the communities aid to a fan in need. So please help? Thank you for any consideration. bben46
Welcome to the TesNexus First issue - Vista or Win7For Vista and Win7 related problems such as UAC, Check here: http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=262. There is also a problem with certain no CD programs interfering with installation due to a copy protection 'feature'. The one I am familiar with is Alcohol, a perfectly legal program. If the protection feature on the disk detects a no cd program, or certain 'crack' programs that would allow making a playable copy of the disk. It will not allow installation. The solution is to uninstall those programs while playing the game.
