Antigravitas Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) I'm tweaking performance, of course, and I'd like to know if anyone is familiar with which .dll's may benefit from an LAA flag. I'm not familiar with how Bethesda uses the final bit, ie full 32 bit communication out of the kernel, and I'm worried setting LAA on certain .dll's will wreck up the place. Another question is this: I currently have Win7 x64 setup on a micro ATX with 4gb's of ram. Will LAA produce any benefits on this system? I'm guessing no but I haven't sorted it out yet. Antigravitas Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Also, in case you clicked in because you are also or have previously screwed around with LAA and memory management, i found this earlier, a few basic tweaks I haven't come across before Edited July 11, 2014 by Antigravitas
Lord Garon Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) Your this link has BAD info; the setting in step one does not even apply to what they say it does and can cause CTD's. See this description. (That's one of the worst, and most persistent, tweaks in Skyrim history.) No "tweak" will allow a 64bit OS to allocate additional memory for current Skyrim and it is already LAA patched (long ago). Adding more ram will reduce your system's dependance on virtual memory, and, possibly, smooth things out some. An enbseries, however, can offload some memory to a different process and allow Skyrim more "elbow room" within its 4GiB space. Only having 4GiB ram on your rig will moderate that benefit, tho.
