Bishop- ok, keep in mind that I'm running this from memory. My computer is being pissy right now, and Toolcrap keeps crashing on me.

Open up the toolset, then open up a window for my computer/computer. go to documents/bioware/dragon age/characters/character name of choice/saves.

Characterr name of choice being the character that you want to edit.

in there, there's a list of folders, several that say autosave, and then some that are numbered. the numbered ones are your regular saves. the higher the number, the more recent the save. They can go as high as 145, so the further down the list they are, the more recent they are.

Find the folder that you want to edit, open it. inside there are several files. two in particular. they will have a filename of whatever you saved your game as. So if you named your save Denerim Market, it will be Denerim Market.das and Denerim Marketdas.met

I BELIEVE the .das file has the info that you need. If not, its the das .met. But drag and drop that file into the toolset. Give it a minute or so to load. If toolset comes up that the file is empty, close toolcrap, reopen it, and try again. (toolset doesnt like to work with savegames, it can fail to load them, or crash with an out of memory error).

Once you get the file opened, start running through the list there, opening the directories by clickig on the + signs. There should be one called something to the affect of Savegame_player_inventory. Guessing on that one, but I do know that it has INVENTORY as part of the name.

Inside that, you'll have a bunch of numbers. Each one of those numbers represents one of the slots in your inventory. Beside those numbers will be another number, which represents the item itself.

For example 05 . . . . 132 (ignore the dots, thats just so I can space the numbers further apart).

Now...there's nothing that is going to tell you what those numbers mean, so you're going to have to copy all of them over. I advise writing them down in a text file, or on paper. Because as badly as toolcrap doesnt like opening ONE savegame file, it likes opening TWO of them EVEN LESS, and can crash.

Tho, to be honest, the easiest way is to just run the forge on the character's Origins savegame, and then transition back over to Awakening. After deleting the characters saves from awakening. (tho I dont know where those are) I mean, the expansion really isnt all that long, most peeps beat it in about 2 1/2 days.

cool deal, good luck :)

OBTW- I kept forgetting to mention this. When you modify the weapon I'd highly recommend upgrading the weapon material. red steel isnt "too bad" for Origins, but in Awakening, it's gonna be underpowered. I'd upgrade it to either DragonBone, or Silver enameld DragonBone. (Even DB is a bit underpowered, but it gets closer to specs used in Awakening).

Either that, or when you are modding it's specs throw some hefty damage modifyers on it. Or both.
