Recruitable characters

i don't know where to put this but here goes

 

my question is there a mod that lets you recruit characters that leave like Alistair, Loghain. or maybe add more characters you your party selection screen. I get really tired of same ol characters.

http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=740 I've played around with this mod some. Granted, its got very few characters that arent story related, but for the most part, its still fun. And it does have an issue or two, such as for some folks, you cant get them to show up at the selection screen. (I have that issue) but its still fun. For a really really long time my 2nd warrior had Anora running around with her as a mage to replace Wynn.

I had to use metagame items to accomplish that. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13 by using the typecaster to change her from warrior to mage.

I also have no autolevel from dragon age Mutator running, so I didnt have to respec her, after the change of class.

 

I'll say this, playing with those characters in the party was VERY refreshing. And from some of your other posts, I'd say they'd fit right up your alley. They keep their mouths shut, they dont talk back, they don't judge you, and you dont have to worry about them getting pissy with you. And OH THANK THE MAKER, no more of Wynn or Leliana's LONGASSED commentaries.

 

Oh, another of those issues that I mentioned.... in some of those areas where they remove your party, these guys are still around. I had anora with me the entire trip thru the fade :D

In some situations tho, the game completely ignores them. Like at the landsmeet you cant choose them as champions to fight Loghain, which was a letdown, I was gonna have Anora commit Patricide! :evil: Or have any of them lead your other party during the denerim invasion towards the very end.

i'll try it out also does it let you recruit alistair back when he leaves you

unfrotunately, I really dont know of any way to recruit Al back :(

If the add-in doesn't work you could try using the console command runscript zz_addparty Alistair. I haven't tested it myself but I believe this could also circumvent the limit of how many companions you can have in party. Best you save the game before you test this because there can occur some errors because the script doesn't set back all plot flags to what they've been.

i got the mod darkewolf mentioned but when i recruit them they dont appear in party selection screen, can some1 help me please, i can go to area to recruit them

try installing the party stage file that is posted with the mod and see if that helps. I've never been able to get custom npcs to show up there tho. not with this mod, wardens arena, or wardens castle.

 

hdhd I know that you're pretty good at these C+ scripts. Would you mind taking a look at this mod and seeing if there's a way to put them back at their spawn point when they arent in the party so they could be re-recruited?

no alistair there if i find out how to put him there if he not in party i will try but not for awhile, toolset is been slow at exporting stuff

Yeah, this mod doesnt let youo re-recruit Al. Like I said, I dont know of any mod that does. You can use the console command, but he's still not "really" recruited.

its not a real pain really as you get King cailian as a substitute and he can be treated the same jsut wont talk in dialogues lols
