Recruitable characters

myself...that part I can't complain about. I play femme characters and I get utterly fed up with Al chasing after me. gets to the point where I won't even talk to him, because he keeps trying to get all personal and crap. If it wasnt for the need to have him at the end, I'd pull a metallica to dave mustaine. get his butt all sodding drunk and then leave his arse in a bar somewhere while the rest of us skip town. :whistling:

yeah, I wouldnt mind having another femme to add to my list of lovers. Unfortunately, something like that requires a considerable amount of work, and different areas of skill/knowledge. I dont know the full depth of what it would take, but I do know that it would be a lot of work.

my vote would be leliana's. Even tho I hate how much she rambles on, and hate being preached at, and despite that I like Morrigan a whole lot more. But it would be easier than trying to figure out all the flags and triggers that cause some of morrigan's actions. (or effing approval drops!)

tho there's an issue there too. NPC personal quests. If the player has already done them, they can't do them over again. If they havent done them.... which do they do them for, the storyline character, or the custom one?

well i want to make dairren a playable npc character as i loved him in the noble beginning, i'm taking my time with him too. i'm using alistair's dialogue and flags and leaving some bits out like personal quests. i hope i can create him too

I'm afraid that I know very little about actually using the toolset. some very basic stuff at best. mine is one of the computers where even tho the toolset will work, it crashes quite a bit.

do you mean adding an entirely new Voiceover, or since you are using Alistair as your base, using his voice as well? If so, I do know that there's an option in the cutscenes when making dialogs for lipsync, and V/O. Unfortunately, I just know that the options are there, not how to actually use them. Lipsync I believe would be automatic if you set it (dont quote me on that tho). The V/O is an entirely different matter tho, as when you export it, it does it without dependancies. Which ends up leaving voices sounding like an antique generic answering machine. Female, monotone, and choppy...with the sentences very clearly made up of seperate words pieced together.

I do know that there's a lot of posts over at social.bioware where people are offering samples of voice acting. So they may know how to do the VO stuff over there?

maybe i will leave it quiet for the meantime, until i can get someone to help with it. so until then it will be a quiet young darrien, whom you can romance as a female character, but i read through his dialogue and you can sleep with him even as a male in the beginning of the human noble class
