Halororor
Well, most of you probably don't really know exactly where it is, but South Africa is a country, not just the southern part of Africa. Let me give you a very brief history lesson. We had an era called "Apartheid' not too long ago. It started sometime around the '40s and lasted until '94. It started out as a racial seperation, where each race had their own areas to develop independently. It changed into an oppression of the non-european populace soon thereafter. Nelson Mandela was a black freedom fighter, who was sentenced to jail for many years for being a 'terrorist'. Upon his release he helped in abolishing the horrid regime and we became a democratic state and also became president for a good few years. The attitude of his political party, the ANC, has changed a lot since then. Now, 16 years later this is more or less the type of stuff we are facing here. While former South African President Nelson Mandela, 85, scoffs at rumors of ill health, plans are being made by the nation's Communist Party to slaughter all whites in the country upon his death, G2B sources say. One of the operations planned entails 70,000 armed black men "being transported to the Johannesburg city center within an hour" in taxicabs to attack whites. The plans are variously dubbed "Operation Vula," "Night of the Long Knives," "Operation White Clean-up," "Operation Iron Eagle" and "Red October campaign." Operation "Our Rainy Day" was to be carried out after the death of Nelson Mandela and would have entailed blacks being transported to the largest cities in taxis. The assailants were expected to "take over" fuel points and massacre whites. The attacks would lead to a coup. Sources say most blacks in the country are aware of the plans. When racial disputes occur, blacks often tell whites, "Wait until Mandela dies.? "White people in South Africa can deny it to the end of the earth, but we are in real danger," one resident said. "This is no joke and any person with half a brain can see that this rumor has spiraled out of control." Many whites are now convinced a vicious campaign of ethnic cleansing will follow Mandela's death whenever it comes. Some are making preparations for retreats. "I have prepared myself and we have a gathering place where we can fortify for four weeks after Mandela?s death," said one white South African. "If nothing happens it will be a miracle." The Red October campaign is allegedly a Communist plot to oust President Thabo Mbeki. Mbeki would be replaced by Cyril Ramaphosa. "I was starting to think I was going nuts!" said another white South Africa resident. "'Operation Uhuru' or 'Operation White Clean-up' is definitely no rumor. I spoke to someone who told me that some blacks in Zimbabwe have also confirmed that this 'event' will take place. My cousin stays on a farm in Mpumalanga, not too far from Johannesburg. A black police officer in that district told his white colleague that they are going to kill us like flies, and there is nothing we can do about it. And that they also don't care if we know." Meanwhile, Mandela, obviously aware of the growing rumors, last week assured the public he is well. "My health is all right," he told reporters in Cape Town. "I'm doing very well. Others have gone further and said I am on the eve of going to my grave. If that day comes, I will go and knock at the door of heaven. ... They will look at the list and say: 'Your name is not here ... can you try next door?'" Concern about Mandela's health surfaced last month when he canceled a scheduled meeting with visiting German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. The former president was at the time relaxing on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. Mandela joked that when his time comes, "I will look for a branch of the ANC (the ruling African National Congress) in that world (and) I'll join it." http://www.punk.co.za/html/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2055 Tension is running high, as a party member of the ANC recently sang a song that was titled "Kill the Boer(a term used for white South Africans which has its origins from the time when we were at war with the English)". Soon after, a facebook group went up in honor of the song. What's even worse is that our government (the ANC, surprise surprise) finds nothing wrong with it and is taking no action against this party member. This so called "Night of the Long Knives" isn't new either. It is an event that almost everybody knows of by now, as many people have heard of it and fear it. This news bodes very ill, as Mandela probably doesn't have much longer. He can barely walk up straight anymore, so him saying that he is still healthy does nothing to reassure anybody. This is incredibly scary and is not just rumor mongering. If you live in South Africa you will understand that things like this are never rumors. The tables have turned, and we, the offspring of those who created Apartheid are the ones who are going to suffer for the sins of out fathers. MoDqUeen
I LIVE HERE!!!! TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!!!! -_- I’m telling you all right now, either when Mandela dies OR come 2010 <the soccer world cup>. Take a look at the maps of Gauteng, every major city it surrounded by squatter camps <informal settlements> and if they wish to they can just cut off all the roads and completely slaughter us. Its a good thing to see that at least someone else knows of the impending danger of this whole affair. Kudos Horolor. Pretty soon the sh** is going to hit the fan and we all are going to be in big trouble. Just the other day i was watching the news and ANC supporters <no surprise there> were singing the machine gun song Mshimiwe Mshimiwe <i don't think i spelt it correctly though.> but that song is purely about killking the whites. Personally.... i want the hell out, and whenever these "informal settlements" flare up about any small thing its absolute chaos, take for instance this recent jube jube incident, what does stoning cars on the freeway have to do with a rap singer that plowed into <four?> bystanders. Those cars had nothing to do with the incident, and neither do unfortunate shop owners who's shops were broken into in the frenzy. We live not far from Sekelo <an informal settlement> and some nights you can heir their shouting whilst they get riled up about some or other matter. I swear these days you have to be completely outfitted for war if you even hope to survive. any and all precautions must be made to enable you to stay safe. Why just a few months ago my parents and i had to sleep in shifts because of recent activity in the area.
Halororor
My problem is, I want out as well, but while I might get the chance to get citizenship in another country, my parents are getting old. No country is going to grant them citizenship until things get out of hand and we can claim refugee status, by which time it will be way too late already. And I just can't leave my parents and flee the country alone. To anybody coming to the Soccer World Cup, keep your wits about you. Despite what our government will have you believe, our country is not safe. Don't take any chances, don't wear expensive jewelry anywhere. In some places it is so bad that you could have your throat slit for a R5 in your pocket and nobody will even do anything, as our crime fighting department is just as corrupt as the criminals. For every good policeman, there is 10 corrupt ones. I'm not trying to scare you off, just please play it safe.
MoDqUeen
Do you know that 90% of the tickets have already been sold to locals? i dont think people want to come here in any case. But i agree, here it is the same, whether in cape town or in Gauteng, please pay extreme attention to your surroundings, even when driving keep an eye on pedestrians, just the other day two pedestriand haules out bricks and initiated a hijack, and that was in an open area, and they may not even look suspicious at first. Also don't be a fool, at night lock your doors and be sure to keep something close at hand just in case. Even though its illigal <supposed pre-meditated murder> to keep a knife under yyour pillow, hell i sleep with three. but thats because of the area we live in. Still, by my advice, don't go anywhere without some means to defend yourself, even if it is a parker pen to stab in the attackers eye. Please be careful people, take it from people that live in this hell hole
Halororor
Do you live in Gauteng? I really feel for the people living there. The people in Cape Town still has it easy, we don't always realise just how bad it is up there. We can still walk around outside and don't have to lock our doors every time we walk guests to the driveway. The problem with us South Africans is we can never stand together on anything. Everybody is always talking about how we should stand up for our rights and rectify all the wrongs, but once push comes to shove, everybody just fades away. josh900
..........Well that settles it Maya. You're coming to live with me and that's final. You can sleep in my sisters' room. We'll homeschool you and you can even bring your cats with you. Heck my parents have already said okay so you just gotta get your parents to agree with it lol. But to stay on topic it's this kinda stuff right here that pisses me off when i hear people here talk about how great south africa is. They keep trying say that it's the perfect example of how all the races need to live together. Ignorance is bliss i guess.

Balagor
Have always wanted to visit ZA. It´s a beautyfull country, with all it´s nature. I have watched a lot of travel agencies commercials; "come to South Africa" "everything is So nice",So they don´t tell all the truth I guess. However, and with no offense, I understand black peoples frustrations, the wrong thing is of cause that you who live now should pay an old bill from 60 years ago. It would be better for the country if everybody could just forget the past, and look forward and start to rebuild the naton.
Halororor
Well, the second 'boer' and his family was killed yesterday. The ANC still says that it has nothing to do with our youth league leader singing 'kill the boer'.
