console help

I have windows vista, wireless mouse and keyboard (if it makes a difference) and i just cant get my console to work in oblivion. ive tried going through the game files and i have set/reset the bAllowConsole to 1, still doesnt work, ive tried the disable infrared, doesnt work, and i have tried the ring of console mod but even i does not bring up the console. Anyone have any info or tips i can try o fix this?

Mybe you hit the wrong button?

Or you got a different keyboard / keyboard settings.

Where do you live ? ( Im familar with the UK and Swedesh keyboard settings a bit )

 

On my keyboard it is the button on the left side of number 1 ( above tab but below ESC )

the tilde key works just not in this game, i use it in codwaw all he time

Are you using the Ring of Console mod properly? You have to have OBSE to make the mod work. The mod's interface is counterintuitive and annoying, but it is serviceable. You have to hotkey the ring. It doesn't work if you equip it the normal way. When you equip the ring via hotkey, the console triggers. Wearing the ring has no effect. Equipping the ring is what triggers the console. You will find yourself repeatedly equipping and unequipping the ring, but it is better than not being able to use console commands.
