MrAB123
Hello, I am new here. I wish to edit the stats of an armour set that I like. I wish to change the amount of armour the set provides. I have the toolset, but I don't know how to do this.
Thandal
If you've never used the Toolset, then you might find it easier to use "The Winter Forge" for making a simple change like the stats on an item. (For help using the TWF, see "The Winter Forge User's Manual".)
MrAB123
Could you please explain how to do that? Like, if for example, I wish to increase the armor of a piece from 3 to 4, what exactly should I do? I didnt quite understand how to use the Winter Forge for this( or more precisely, which feature I should use for this). I am a total noob when it comes to modding this game. In Skyrim and Fallout, you have the Creation Kit and GECK which make it quite easy to change the stats of an item. MrAB123
Problem being, I don't know what feature to use. I have, for example, transferred magical properties of one item to another, and the manual mentions how to, but it doesn't mention how to manually change the stats of an armor piece(like, for example, a certain chestpiece provides 3 armor. I wish to change it to 4). It does mention other stuff, but not this. I also am unable to access the Override mode, this despite me editing my dragonage.ini file to enable override mode in the Winter Forge.
theskymoves
Override mode is a configurable component of TWF. I've never used an INI edit, though - I think that's just for setting the mode to automagically work for each character? - so I'm no help at all. (As usual. :-/) *hugs TWF cheat mode tightly to my breast* Edited July 14, 2014 by theskymoves
Thandal
I think the feature of TWF that you want to employ is: Replace existing properties Imagine you found an useful item a while back, and would like to use Enchantment to upgrade one of its magical properties. Or even imagine you did enchant that item yourself a few levels before, and wish to upgrade it now. Until now, it was not possible. At least not without wiping the item from all its other properties using either the anvil or disenchantment. That's where this option now comes. By enabling it, your Enchantment skill will now accept to replace existing properties with other enchantment of the exact same time. For instance, you'll be able to change that +3 Strength on a shield by using a Skilful Inscription of Strength. A word of caution, thought. The newest bonus will always replace the existing one, even if it's actually lower... The enchantments of interest are: Rough Inscription of Protection +1 ArmorsInscription of Protection +2 ArmorsSkilful Inscription of Protection +3 ArmorsPristine Inscription of Protection +4 Armors
