Moscha
I made some custom belts, that increase some stats and Stamina/Mana etc, but I made them too OP, so it wasnt really fun anymore. So I changed the stats on the belts and reinstalled the mod, but my characters still have the bonuses from the old belts now, eventhough there not wearing any! And deactivating the mod doesnt help either.Im guessing thats because I deactivated the mod and then force loaded the game while the characters where still wearing the items...Is there any way to fix this? DarkeWolf
remove the items. uninstall the modgo into the game, force load your last save.create a NEW save, not overwrite the old save.exit the game completely.restart the game and load your clean save. that didnt work? Ohhhh wait a sec. This is items that you made.....did you make them in Winter Forge, or in TOOLSET? If you made them in toolset, there is a copy of them still in your documents folder. what you need to do is go thru your documents folder, then bioware, dragonage. check dragonage/modules/single player/toolset see if a copy of the mod you made is in there, delete it.check dragonage\packages\core\toolset see if a copy of the mod is in there, delete it. Roana
yup, made em in the Toolset and there werent any copys of the mod in those folders Hello, if you have changed the name of your mod, while changing the items, then this might be the reason. Also: some stat-bonuses do not work properly, when assigned to items, they should not be. E.g. I have recognized by accident, that Stats, which do real amount of +damage (not the +xx%, but the +xx without %) will stay on your char, even, if your haven't equipped them anymore (e.g.: +20% cold damage will be removed, if the item is removed, but +20 cold damage will stay). On the other hand: You don't have to deactivate a mod, if you reinstall it with _exactly_ the same files in the .dazip, with _exactly_ the same names. DAUptdater will override the old files without demand permission. It just requires the game not running. Well, I don't know, how the toolset works, because I haven't managed to get this to work on my PC - and - haven't any pleasure in learning more about SQL to do so (they should provide a toolset, that works, without a sql-server - and - bugfree, before I deal with it once more in the future  ) But - I do know, how AddIns are implemented in the game and what the DAUpdater does with a mod during installing a .dazip-file ;) A .dazip-file is (as written in the wiki) an only renamed .zip-file. The DAUpdater extract all files in it into the .temp-folder in your Dragon Age-folder located under C: in "My Documents" (or whatever is usually used). From there the DAUpdater will process the Manifest.xml that is packed with your mod, to update your AddIns.xml with this mod (so that the game can show it in the "Installed DLC-list"). Then it will copy over the mod-files to their (in the Manifest.xml) given folders. If there is already a mod with exact the same name, then the DAUpdater will delete the old version and add the new version at the end of this file (also without information or demand permission). So, if you rename a mod during changing it, it will have own folders and it will appear twice in the AddIn.xml and this way - not install properly. IF you have changed the name of the mod, but NOT the name of the item itself, the new one will not work probperly this way (but may confusing your game ;) ). By the way: If you want your mods properly run on a second char, do the following: 1) deactivate any mods without the official DLCs and those few mods, that _require_ a new game-start2) go online3) log in to the ea-server4) Start a new game while online5) Save the game at the first point, you can do it (if you don't want the char-profile on Bioware-site updated, uncheck the automatic-option before saving - OR - log out and go in window-mode (or back to your OS while minimizing the game) and cut the line)6) leave the game to the startscreen7) activate the mods, you want to start with8) load your savegame This will - in most cases - prevent you from beeing forced to authorize your official DLC once more - and - the items will now properly appear in your inventory as for the first char :) If the game want you to authorize your DLC anyway (which may be, because EA (I hate EA) has implemented a "Authorization required=1" in the AddIns.xml for all their DLCs, which the game must parse every time it is started *grmpf*) - log into the ea-server, to get this once more, log out and play :) Repeated questions of authorize the DLCs you can only avoid surely by editing the AddIns.xml (which in this case will require a XML-Editor, because EA/Bioware have not a valid AddIns.xml created (there are a few bytes in front of the xml-declaration, which would be not read and therefore removed by any text-editor). According to 5): The option "automacily update your character profile" has a deep impact on the way, your game is saved: - with this option on, you will find a fresh created .xml-file in the savegame-folder according to this savegame, called "CharnameStory.xml", where the game stores information about your characters stats, current level, last levels (if any) and the equipped items on the current saved char. - with this option off, this file will not be created. As I find this file helpful for myself, I always let the option on, but play offline, so that nothing will be updated an the EA/Bioware server ;) Sorry, for that long post, but I have not enough information from your, to figure out, why exactly your mod-change don't work as intended, and so I was forced to declare a bit more, because I'm not every day online to review post on answers of questions, or ask them new ;) Greetings Roana
DarkeWolf
Wow. Good post Roana! I didnt know about that part about changing the name of it. Hate to say it, but I'm stumped. If you got rid of the items, properly cleaned your saved games, and properly cleaned out your system, there's nothing there that should be keeping thos bonuses on you
Moscha
I guess I'll just make an item that decreases all the attributes then.but thanks anyway!
DarkeWolf
You might try over at social.bioware to see if anybody over there knows what might be causing it. they have some of the actual game staff that looks in sometimes, and they seem to have some better info over there. http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/category/58/index I hope that you get it fixed!
