Glyre
Hi, I recently purchased Oblivion for my pc, mainly so that I could take advantage of many of the mods for it. (I've already played it on Xbox.) When I downloaded the first disk from the Game of the Year Edition, both DLCs, and the newest patch from Bethesda, it ran fine. Afterward, I downloaded Ren's Beauty Pack, the Oblivion Mod Manager, and the Custom Race Fix mods. With those installed I tried to run it, but it crashed immediately and said that there was a problem and that Oblivion needed to close. Now, after re-installing the game four times, I can't even get Vanilla Oblivion to work--I uninstalled all my mods and did not use the DLC. This is really starting to frustrate me, and I hope someone can help. I am using the 64 bit version of Windows 7, and my pc is an HP Pavilion Elite HPE 112y. The graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 4350. I have 8gb's of memory, and a 1 terabyte hard drive. I hope someone can help! By the way, I have tried installing the Unnofficial Oblivion Mod, defragging the disk, and saving the game in a different part of my C drive. None of them have worked. The only strange thing I can remember happening is a message box asking if I wanted to replace textures when installing Ren's, although I don't think that would still be causing me problems after I have re-installed the game. Glyre
Maybe this will help.Crash Prevention guide Well, I've followed some of the advice and turned off my HP Printer, I'm also going to try and defrag the drive again. Besides that, I tried most of the other tips. Although I haven't installed any crash prevention mods--which would you recommend?

The Unofficial Oblivion Patch is a must have for sure, Wrye Bash (which can be found here) is good if you have a lot of mods. Streamline does a lot of cool gadgets. WeOCPS is supposed to be real good, but I just downloaded it today so I wouldn't know much. Personally I downloaded them all (except Oldblivion and Stutter Remover, but I might soon) just to be safe. Also You might need to download OBSE for a lot of them. You may not need my help with that, or even already have it, but if you dont you can PM me for help if you need it. Hope it helps :)
