Quetzlsacatanango
There's no night on the (light side of the) moon and millions of square miles that are lit at all times. Not to mention running wires across the sahara. Besides, what's cool about windmills?
AzirAphale001
The ones we have now(at least in DK) only last few days and takes several hours to recharge.A few days? Try a few hours, and several more hours to recharge.I think hydrogen is the way to go. It's easily the most abundant element on the planet, with the only drawback is that most of it is in water, and to get it out requires electricity. But when it's burnt you only get water, which can then be recycled to get more hydrogen.
Quetzlsacatanango
The only drawback is not that "most of it is in water". Another pretty significant drawback is that it's highly flammable and therefore dangerous to lug around in your car. So you have to keep it in a solid/inert/otherwise safe state until the moment you need to burn it, which means you are using some of your juice to separate it on the fly, decreasing your range, etc...
