Mod causing face design editor to crash?

When adjusting the sliders for the preset faces at the beginning of the game, it crashes to the desktop. The slider goes about half way, but selects the last preset face, and crashes, every time. Its almost like there is room for more faces, but crashes instead. I also noticed other sliders moved much farther back and forth, then they did before I installed these mods. The eye color slider has way more options too, but most of them look exactly the same, except for some new ones in the middle. I have no idea what mod is causing this since i haven't installed any that mess with the character editor. I was hoping someone on here could help me out, or direct me to someone that knows about these particular mods. I have patch 1.03 installed, RTO, and other DLC. I have already reinstalled the game and made sure it wasn't the game itself or the patch. It worked fine, installed the mods, and back to crashing. these are the mods I have installed:

Ok, sorry to double post. I had an issue like this just happen to me as well. The issue stemmed from a chargen compatibility file.

Essentially, chargenmorph.xml is most likely the problem. in order for all the morph options to be available in the chargen screen, they have to be listed in this chargenmorph file. Now, some authors have created compatibility files, which list a ton of the most popular morph add-ons. IF the chargen creator comes across a name on this list, and it doesnt find a file that matches to that name... it basically goes "WTF!?" and causes wierd issues. Such as crashing, or just not showing that particular option in the chargen generator.

Also, once it hits what I'm going to refer as a null reference, it will not show any more references in that list, regardless of whether they are there, or not. So like if it hits a null reference for a hair object, it wont read anymore of the hair references that are behind it in the list.

If it continues to crash, what you will need to do is create a new chargenmorph.xml file. do a search thru http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showforum=307 for any subjects containing hair, eyes, skin, tints, and you'll come across instructions by Laora, TikkiDew, or myself on how to create a custom file of this type.

I too have the same problem since the 1.03 patch and I regret downloading it. Bioware usually doesn't give me problems and chargen was annoying but I do use it to reselect colors and hairstyles - and I'm a perfectionist at having the character I want from the start of the game. Now I can't even start the game because I don't want to start off the beginning CGs with a different looking character.

When i shift the slider to my .mop files, the game or the creator crashes and no matter what I do, it doesn't fix.

Troubleshooting:

1. I re-made .mop files from my .mrh files and put it back into the override folder.

2. I deleted the Single Player folder.

3. I tested the naming and folder placing (subfolders and such) - its not the affecting problem.

4. My chargenmorphcfg file is working.

5. Chargen, bidelle and everyone else's .mops are working.

6. My .mop is working for other people. [i posted up a few for download on Nexus before]

On a sidenote, eye color and tattoo color slider doesn't work since the 1.02 patch anymore.

Lucide- yours is actually a different problem. Bogus has an issue with a bad chargen file, I think. Your's is an issue with patch 1.03.

Unfortunately, if it is an issue with the new patch, my knowledge only holds two ways to fix it. 1) Install Awakening. 2) Uninstall DA:O, reinstall it, and only patch to the desired level. Meaning, disabling autopatch if you have it, and manually installing 1.01, 1.02 if desired. The patches themselves can be located on a google/yahoo/bing search.
