Can't Save after testing mod.

Ok, so I made my own house in Aleswell and when I close the Construction Set and go into Oblivion to test it out everything is there and fine. I exit Oblivion and start Construction Set again, load up my house to add items to it, but when I try to save I get an error saying that the file I'm trying to save is currently the Master or Active. Well It's not the master and I didn't specify an active file when I loaded it. So why can't I save my freakin mod?! I've had to rename it 5 times now and there had better be an easier way to update/edit a mod or forget it. Surely I must be doing something wrong here. Please help.

You should be selecting your modded house as the "active" file in the data portion of the CS. If you don't, you're effectively starting a new .esp. If you are I've misunderstood that, try deactivating your mod before you open the CS. And make sure you've given Oblivion time to exit fully before you try to open the CS. Not your issue (I don't think) but editing the files whilst they're actually in use can do some funky stuff.

Thanks Jenrai! I've been rackin my brain as to why I couldn't overwrite my own saves. That seemed to fix it. So basically whatever mod you select as 'active' is like loading a file in word to work with, right? Hopefully after I figure out the basics of my own home and items, I'll be able to build one from scratch with my choosing of walls, stairs, and whatnot.

Yeah, the 'active' file is the one you're working on & whenever you save your changes it'll be saved as that .esp (ctrl + S does the same thing in most MS programs, methinks) Glad I could help a little matey.

Happy modding :)
