KrimsonAce
To start off, hey everyone. I have been in a sort of mod-fever recently, and have quite a fair bit of mods. Unfortunately, many models that I have end up having purple faces and /or bodies, or simply do not show up at all. To keep this introduction short, I would appreciate if anyone with decent knowledge in the conflicting mods would point out which of my mods cannot and/or will not work together. By the way, I am trying to open up space of the Mystic Elf mod, and do not mind losing other race mods. Any suggestions? Here is my current load order. P.S. Some of the following (but not many) are adult mods. Please view at your digression. David Brasher
The world of mods is too complex. I don't know if any genius would be able to help you with your problem or not. I don't know how many popular mods are in circulation, but I heard someone quote the number 15,000. That is a lot of mods. Nobody would be able to remember the names and characteristics of all of them. Figuring out how they all would interact would require godlike powers. So unless you exactly copy somebody's well-tested mod list, you are bound to suffer alone. This is my advice: (1) Systematically and while keeping good records, disable half of your mods. (2) Play-test.(3) If everything is good, activate half of your disabled mods.(4) Play-test(5) If good go to step 3. If bad, go to step one. This is just the rough outline. Don't disable the mods that were in set of mods that gave you a good play-test. Only disable ones from the group that was added in that broke your good system. You would have to keep good records and experiment to eventually isolate the mod or mods that don't work with your set of mods. When installing new mods, it is good to install them at a rate of one per day with several hours of play-testing after installation. This may sound like really annoying advice, but it could prevent a person from creating a complex problem he or she can't solve.
bben46
FYI, there are currently 18,737 Oblivion mods (Not counting any other game) on TesNexus alone. Then there are many other mod sites with mods that are not on Tesnexus. Looking at that load order - I Hope it is a load order and not just a list. It doesn't look like you have arranged your mods in the proper order. Link to Bben's Oblivion Load Order Recommendationshttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=323 Also, for troubleshooting I recommend removing Deadly reflex as it changes so many different things in so many places in the game it can cause unexpected problems. bamspeedy
I'm pretty sure purple bodies and objects means you're missing some textures, so I'm not sure a conflict detector will solve your problems. I'm not familiar with most of those mods, and the others that I have tried I don't know them well enough to know where they are supposed to be (I've tried them and have since removed them for whatever reason, such as with some of the adult mods, while I thought they were interesting for a little while, I didn't like it messing with the game too much or getting me too distracted....). Move Unofficial Oblivion Patch before Shivering Isles.Move Knights much further down the list (unless you've completed all the quests for knights). I'd look into Tes4Edit. With that utility you can see the conflicts better (OBMM conflict detector gives you a general idea of what conflicts-the record or Form ID that is being changed..... but doesn't give much detail-such as exactly how that record or Form ID is being changed). With Tes4Edit you can see better exactly what things are being changed/conflicts (after applying a filter), or there might be some other tools that are better than the OBMM conflict detector. Some conflicts are harmless (changing the fog in a cell from .0000 to .0001 isn't a problem if you don't have the nVidia black screen problem) or if the conflict is in a test cell, while others are major and could basically change everything from another mod loaded earlier rendering that earlier loaded mod essentially useless.
