I'm just starting to learn my way around the GECK, but I know that I need something more than that to create the meshes or textures I'd need.Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm not sure you need to do a whole lot more than work with the meshes, if it's a *replacer*. But your going to have to do a whole lot of work on the models, every outfit/armor that you want to accurately reflect your body replacer will have to be edited in blender or 3ds max. A lot of work. Editing the male and female base upperbody.nif has no impact on the clothes/armor. I don't see any reason to muck with the textures unless your new body type has some customized skin (high res texture, tats, new/unusual color of complexion etc). But if you do that, just like any replacer, all instances will use it. If on the other hand you want to make a new body type alongside the vanilla\default body type, so that not every npc uses the new body (just certain individuals, or just the player, or just a small group), then your going to get into custom races and what have you.
