dra6o0n Posted March 24, 2010 Share Posted March 24, 2010 The idea is that instead of spewing flames outward, doing fire damage over time on a opponent, a actual torch can do immediate damage rapidly at close range. It can use the flamethrower base equipment, but instead of a wide flame, it'll be a more focused beam of fire. This means that it's a more concentrated source of heat and will even melt the weapon (weapon durability can wear down faster if held down). This thing can burn a hole into a behemoth... If you can stand up close and attack it though, heh. It is rapid, sort of like a 300 rounds per minute gun, does moderate to low damage per round, but acts as a flamethrower that it does bonus fire damage. It's suppose to be balanced, so maybe make the durability very low, but can be easily repaired using other mods. Maybe use better and newer ammunition, as normal flamer fuels can't really produce this. Think of a portable blowtorch, but 2x the range, or... Think of a jet flame engine being used as a weapon. The target is toast within seconds because of the massive size though... As for balance, to produce this much flames means your weapons has to be large, meaning you can't use it properly without power armor training.
