dtom1962
HELP!!!! When ever a player either my self or an NPC equips a better quality bow (silver or above) the game crashes to reboot. This usually happens in interior set ups and occasionally out in the field. It works fine on Iron and Steel bows, but anything higher and CRASH!!!! I am NOT a bow user and have been making progress with out even noticing it. I have put occasional fatal crashes and currupted save games down to a complex game with the odd glitch. Most of the time I have taken it as a sign from the nine to stop playing and rejoin the real world. But now it has become impossible to play. I think the say thing might be happening with staff equipping at higher levels. It may be something to do with the sound file, it seems noticably louder for a silver bow, but in truth that is only a wide stab in the dark from an incompetent. I have a very low end graphics card but in truth the game has run very smoothly indeed and I have never had a frame rate issue. I can use every time of bladed weapon without the remotest issue, just those damn bows. Is anyone else experiencing this problem. If you are getting crashes when facing bowmen, try equipping a decent bow in a dungeon or building and see if this is your problem. ex128
I had this bug, if there is a fix, use that, otherwise here is my work around. Firstly, dont equip the bow yet. Fast travel to somewhere else on the map and make sure there is nothing chasing you. Save the game. Quit. Go back into the game. Load your game where you wanted the silver bow. It should work. The issue i had with this is that i was in oblivion at the time. I found that so long as i wasnt looking at NPCs it would work, soon as i turned at the npc my computer got more and more laggy and ultimately crashed. I managed to fix this by the method above, if doesnt work, try going somewhere where there are no NPCs.
