I was thinking about how to do this but with trying to tie it to the themes, it could become problematic with upgrades, new themes and whatnot.

Right - what I meant was that I thought that the skins/themes might be able to override a BBCode style if necessary for better visibility. With a BBCode style like you just made, that wouldn't be necessary, plus it's a good idea for the text to be consistent across all themes, so it's probably a better way to go anyway. :thumbsup:

I'd argue it takes less time to type it than it does to select the text then select the color

Does the new board software also allow you to assign new keyboard shortcuts to BBCodes, like Ctrl+I for Italic and Ctrl+B for Bold? If not, there might be a mod to let you do that, or some other custom code. Ctrl+M is probably available.... LHammonds?

 

EDIT:

Ah... I was wondering how a restricted BBCode would look when quoted. I didn't think it would be possible for the style to be retained there (which is fine). In case you haven't tested it yet, it looks the same if a non-privileged user tries to use the tags.
