Clicking on an item in CS

I'm having a heck of a time trying to isolate what object I want to click on in CS when I go to manipulate it. Instead I'm always clicking on a castle wall or a building and it's really hard for me to get that object I want to click on to get centered on.

Like this stupid honeysuckle bush that's been blown up 6xs it's normal size and it's way up in the air. You might think that would be easy to click on, right? No, it's not. At least not for me. I've tried using the T view and usually that will work but sometimes it doesn't. Like with this gigantic honeysuckle bush. :verymad:

Any other tips beside the T view for isolating desired objects?

You can select it from the cell objects and either edit the position by changing the coordinates, or atleast have it selected so that when you go to move it in the render window you can see the cursor change to let you know where you can grab it.

But yes, bushes are rather annoying to work with since only their basepoint (that little yellow +) can be grabbed. Scaling it doesn't do anything. If you're having trouble, you could always place a small rock by where that + is, and then select both with a window. You can then grip it at the rock, move it, and then delete the rock or move it to a different location.

Hi Vagranto,

Thanks for letting me know that. I thought making the bush bigger would make it easier but I was wrong. I have many of the same objects (lots of plants) so the item list doesn't help me out much cause I have a lot of the same object all over the place. I'm not sure how to grab two objects at once-I've done it a few times by accident but don't know how I did it but I'll play around and figure it out.

I also found another trick I just taught myself. I click on the background object that keeps getting in the way. Whenever the pointer is focused on that object it's the plus arrow (a cross made from 4 arrows)-when I move the pointer around and it changes focus on a new object the pointer turns into a little arrow with a tiny plus sign next to it. I click twice when that happens and the object description pops up and I make sure it's what I want to be focused on, if it is, I just close the window and then I get the plus arrow and I know then that I can move my object. Yay!
