kingy30
I have downloaded tons of different mods (one at a time and tested them each) and none of them have worked besides the bben_dagger_test one.....I have the latest patch for Oblivion and i think i just need help putting the nif. etc files into the right catergories. I have copied the esp. file to the data and ticked the box in the data file page on the actual Oblivion game. Please help me out because im confused how to get it working and I would love to experience a larger proportion of this amazing game?

bben46
My test dagger does not have any new mesh or texture files (on purpose). When you install a mod that does have them, you will probably get a warning message that files are about to be overwritten. This is normal and you should always answer Yes to overwrite. They do not actually overwrite anything - they append (add to) the existing files. Also, many mods require the latest patch, OBSE or some other mod to work. Be sure to read the read me for each mod. Install the patch and OBSE so you will be ready for those that do need them.Bben's Patch Advicehttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=327 I recommend using both OBMM and OBSE. These are not mods and do not install like mods so be sure to read the instructions. BOSS is good after you have a dozen or so mods. It shouldn't be needed until then. But it will not hurt anything to have it early. I also recommend learning to install mods using the OMOD format from OBMM. It makes installing and removing mods much simpler once the mod is in the OMOD format.
eXoduis
have you read the Read Me's in the mod folders too? Most mods are easy to installThis is the Oblivion DirectoryBethesday Softworks/Oblvion(in this folder there is the Launcher and other .exes, OBSE is placed here too)/Data This folder here contains the BSA folders needed by oblivion. Naturally all mods are easy to install, unzip the file drag and drop into the DATA folder the folders from your mod file. So for exemple in your mod file you should see like Texture, Mesh, and RandomNameLOL.esp. All of those should be present IN the DATA directory.Hope it helped
