Load the mod in the CS, at the top click world, then right below that click weather. You should be looking at the weather panel with all the various weather types in the left column. Select the weather type to modify, click the dropdown next to time of day and select Night. Now all you have to do to change the darkness and/or color is adjust the 3 values beneath time of day to get the color you want. Do this for all weather types you want to change and then save.

Hey Scot it sounds like you're having the same problem I'm having with changing weather and climate stuff.

It just goes right back to the default, and doesn't actually change at all.

When you change these values, press okay and close the window, go back into the window and see if they're back to the original again.

I've been trying to get rid of the crickets in the mountains and the only thing that works is a straight sound file replacement, which gets rid of them in other places as well. Whenever I go back into the window again, the crickets are back! I can't delete them.

Maybe there's a bug in the CS, but to my experience, modifying weather and climates doesn't actually work. You can't change it.

And yet, obviously people have. What gives?

Not sure what happened. This is eactly how I changed it in mine and it worked. Are you loading any other mods after it that might be undoing the changes?

I hope I'm not taking over the thread as the OP's problem seems to be the same as mine. :whistling:

What do you mean by loading other mods after it? Do you mean, in OBMM or the CS? When I tried deleting the cricket sounds from the mountain climate, I had only loaded the Oblivion.esm There was no active file as I inteded to make a new .esp. The same thing happened when I tried to remove an inappropriate bird sound from the jungle in Elsewhyer (sorry, I don't recall how to spell the name... ). At that time, I had that .esp loaded in the CS as the active file. The same thing happened. Delete the bird sounds and they're back again when I go back into the window.

I had only arthur natural environments as an active file and obviasly oblivion.esm not other esps active.I tried again but no use XD but today´s a new day so I will try once more.

I load back the file and the values are still the one´s I change into so they don´t get back to original. That problem of yours megatarius might be because if you have vista you should try open the CS as administrator since the uac system in vista makes the difference when you have to install or open programs.

Megatarius I meant your load order, making sure the weather .esp was loaded last in the list. Other than that, I wish I could be of more help. Like I said it worked when I did it so I'm not sure where the problem lies.

@ Scot:

I have Windows 7, not Vista, and I have the UAC turned all the way down. My account is also the admin account, but I must admit I've never tried to run the CS "as" Admin.

@ Razorpony:

The problem is not the weather mod being loaded too early, the problem is the weather mod doesn't actually contain any changes because the window in the CS resets itself. I can't actually delete the sound effects at all. They're always back. If you don't know what's causing it, thanks anyway....

Megatarius: Try do that as administrator if it doesn´t work it´s simple go the the file where the sound is and replace it for a mute sound. That´s what I do when I don´t wnat a sound.Download a music mod that is a sound file without sound and replace that for the ones you don´t want. Here´s the link (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11331) try as administrator or replace the silent sounds from this mod for the sounds you don´t want.
