Raestloz
So, when you go sneaking in third person, normally an eye will appear to help you know whether you're detected or not. Well, simply put in my save it's gone To put it less simply, in 3rd person mode whenever I go sneaking no eye will appear. To make the eye appear I have to enter 1st person mode which will still be thee when I exit 1st person mode. The problem doesn't end there: in 3rd person the crosshair won't update, as in it won't show my current situation For example if I go sneaking in 3rd person, no eye appears, then I enter and exit 1st person mode to show the eye and I do all this being undetected. Then I go rushing at an enemy still sneaking. Even with the battle music playing the eye is still dim. If I go to 1st person the eye lits, and if I go to 3rd person, it is still bright. But if I kill the enemy (thus clearing the battle music, assume there's only one enemy in a cave here) the eye is still bright This is a save-related problem, I tested my game with a different save and the eye works wonders, but not in my main save Is there something I can do to fix this? I'm using many mods to improve my character's appearance and for god's sake I don't want to perform sneaking missions in 1st person view... Any help is greatly appreciated, as this problem affects my gameplay greatly :(
Raestloz
I somehow managed to make it appear, at the cost of something far worse... If I disable the crosshair from in-game menu, the eye will come back, and perfectly at that too. The problem being with that I can't say whether what I'm about to do is illegal or not as the usual icon showing those hand, door, pot and whatnot is gone. Also with that the usual + reticle will disappear, leaving only an eye for me to guess where the hell I'm supposed to shot. I know it's not supposed to be a problem since if you're sneaking whatever you're doing is probably illegal anyway, and the reticle is not accurate, but it still annoys me to no end. I've always played Oblivion with vanilla crosshair behavior and I loved it, and certainly I don't want to let it go I tried deleting my Oblivion.ini and it still won't appear. I used someone's save and sure enough the eye is there, but if I use one of my saves (either creating a new save or using other older save preserved before I even use a single patch/mod) the eye is missing Is there something that I can do? I remember this happens around the time I decided to patch my SI but for some reason it stopped at processing "readme.txt" saying the goddamn thing is different while the readme is generated by the original Oblivion patch... it's not about mods because this happens a week after I activated the last mod (which is simply a custom item mod) Will re-installing bring my eye back? I also noticed that I can no longer make screenshots even though I'm using a brand-new-Oblivion-created Oblivion.ini and modified it to allow screenshot without doing anything else
