glensh
I simply would like to remove the red glow from the Blood Dragon Helm with out changing the textures of the helmet. My problem is doing that is little beyond my current skill. I am having trouble simply finding it in the DAO toolset. So If anyone is gracious, could someone explain how to pull the helmet up in the toolset and remove the red glow. I am not new to modding just trying to get the hang of DOA toolset
DarkeWolf
IF you can locate the .dds texture file for it, getting rid of the glowmap is very simple.first, you need a program that has a plugin to read .dds files. once you've got that just make a copy of the .dds file, then open that copy, Once you've got it opened, save it as a .jpeg to get rid of the glowmapping. then open it again, and save it back as a .dds. either save file as, and browse to your override folder and save there, or copy and paste the new .dds file into your override folder, and see how it turned out. OR if your software can translate the .dds with the layering intact, and you know how to find the layer, simply delete the glowmap layer....which is just simply a transparancy layer with the lightlevel set higher up. I know you said that you didnt want to mess with the texture file, but I dont know how to mess with the tint files in the toolcrap
DarkeWolf
Oh, forgot to mention.... there's probably two copies of the texture file. One in medium resolution and one in high resolution. Both would have to be edited and saved.
