farlin
I have seen many NPCs meet their doom by other NPCs or their own stupidity. My question is whether they ever respawn, or do they just stay dead? It seems to me that the world would be compleatly depopulated after about 100 hours if there was not some respawning system. Stampede
You must live in some sort of savage Cyrodill ;) I only say this because I have yet to come across a corpse of anyone who is not a criminal of some sort. Who have you found to be dead so far? I'd love to know...and how do you suspect they died?
Povuholo
Well the mythic dawn can cause some trouble... Getting innocent citizens standing around killed. With my mage one of the three brothers of "the three brothers trade goods" shop was killed outside.
Stampede
Hahahaha! Poor sod, hope they can get a refund for their shop sign.
Qasid
What I've noticed so far is there are no children in the game. So the bith rate must be 0.0%, except for guards and such, who magically re-appear no matter how many you kill. But I believe, actually, you can get to kill entire town populations with the exception of guards, and have the town to yourself. But well, you could do that in real life too ^^
Stampede
:D Well, for various reasons no little kids as such were put in the game. Though there are families with sons and daughters. I've already seen mods attempting to put kids in the game...probably going to be mute for now though. Guards are grown in a similar fashion to the Uruk-Hai in Peter Jacksons version of Lord of the Rings.
Killians5
well as for the heading its impossible for complete depopulation because NPC's important to the storyline just get knocked unconscience. But it would be very fun to try....

But it would be very fun to try.... If someone really wants to do it.. it IS possible. There is an option in the oblivion.ini file which allows important characters to be killed. Although i'm not completely sure if this works, because they said some time when someone essential was killed the game would be forced to reload. It's not really recommended since it can break a lot of quests
