hi,

Thanks for the link to the old version but I rather use the latest version of Loot with a workround.

You can use the newest version still with my son's work around batch file.

The following batch commands are the ones I use and it works with Firefox and Crome but of course IE does not work.

The batch commends are...

C:
cd "C:\Program Files\LOOT\"
start /wait LOOT.exe

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -url "file:///J:/LOOT/resources/report/report.html?data=J:/yak/Skyrim/ReportData.js"

The code above runs loot for convenience so you can use it as per normal without running loot and then the batch file.

I named my batch fil loot.bat and run loot this way.

ie...

1. run the batch file (loot.bat in my case) containing the above commands.

2. proceed as per normal with loot. Close the blank report and close loot.

3. the batch file then runs your report.

The last code in quotes will probably be different from your setup but it can be obtained from the loot blank report itself by

1. run Loot on your computer

2. right click on the blank report

3. goto properties

4. copy the Address (URL)

5. paste it into the lastline of the batch file in place of my "file:///J:/LOOT/resources/report/report.html?data=J:/yak/Skyrim/ReportData.js"

This should work for all.

Thats it. From now you run loot by running this batch file - Done.

Loot can easily do this by calling Firefox or Crome to diaplay the report directly from their code so that it maintains

max compatibility with existing computers. They already do this with IE so it is just a matter of calling firefox directly.

pzaw

So I had this same issue. All the LOOT reports would not load on any browser and I spent hours messing with settings to get it to work. The way I resolved this:

When I installed LOOT it created a shortcut .exe outside of the LOOT directory. I had told MO to use that shortcut LOOT.exe and not the one within the actual LOOT directory. This is what causes the issue. Delete the LOOT shortcut, then go into MO and edit your LOOT executable. Change the Binary to your LOOT directory .exe instead of the shortcut .exe.

For Example:

Originally mine was: c:\steamlibrary\steamapps\common\skyrimmodding\LOOT.exe This was pointing to the shortcut .exe that LOOT had created when I installed it.

Now:

c:\steamlibrary\steamapps\common\skyrimmodding\LOOT\LOOT.exe

Which now points to the actual .exe within the LOOT directory.

As soon as I made that change, LOOT now can load the reports and it works with all my browsers.

  • 3 weeks later...

Open LOOTDebugLog.txt in %LOCALAPPDATA%\LOOT

At the end of the document there is the following line:

[15:04:58] [trace]: Converting file path "D:\Skyrim Mods\LOOT.Archive\resources\report\report.html?data=C:\Users\computername\AppData\Local\LOOT\Skyrim\reportdata.js" to a URL.

Copy the whole path, eg:

D:\Skyrim Mods\LOOT.Archive\resources\report\report.html?data=C:\Users\computername\AppData\Local\LOOT\Skyrim\reportdata.js

Insert in browser and hit Enter. You will see that the message "The page could not be found". The browser (I use chrome), have changed the "?" sign between .html?data to "%3F" (.html%3Fdata). Edit this back to a "?" and hit Enter.. you should be able to see the log.

EDIT: Just save the link as a bookmark, and use it every time you have run LOOT

  • 1 year later...

i know this is an old thread but for those like me that still play skyrim it could be usefull so the easiest way it's to launch loot before M.O and make a run ,as you said the list mod is not full, don't close LOOT and then launch again loot via M.O and magic it works the list mod is updated. But still prefer my load order only usefull to see dirty mod edit
