satanicmoogle
For re-texture mods, i was wondering why some of them have ESP files? I have an older mod that comes with texture/mesh files and an esp, but all it does is replace in game textures. I made an OMOD with just the texture/mesh files and it works prefectly without the ESP file. So my question, why do some texture mods have one and when is it safe to not use it and just make an OMOD instead? Thanks
razorpony
Depends on the mod and what it replaces. For instance, some armors do not have female versions. If someone wants to make a female dwarven or steel cuirass the only way to get it to show up in game is to include an .esp file. Some people also include an .esp so that the new meshes and textures can be stored in their own directory and not overwrite anything. Makes it easier to revert back if you don't like them. -Razorpony
