Hello,

have you controlled, if a screenshot is there in your C:\documents\(your name)\my documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Screenshots\User folder?

If you make a screenshot in Dragon Age, it seems, that nothing happens, but the screenshot is taken anyway. If you have enabled, to be informed, if a screenshot is taken, in the options, it only informs you about automatically taken screenshots, which you can find in this folder: C:\documents\(your name)\my documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Screenshots\Story

But the game give no feedback for the screenshots, you have made manually, even it it has make it right.

By the way, it is only the button printscreen - the button f12 does not work in Dragon Age: Origins :wink:

Greetings

Roana

I have this problem all the time, particularly with the developer console enabled. What usually fixes it is if I hit prntscr, alt-tab out to windows, and then come back into the game and hit prntscr again. Then it starts working normally. Bizarre but seems to work for me. Plus when you alt-tab out you can go check on the screenshots directory each time to see if it's working yet...

k, lets check to see if maybe something has disabled the screenshot key in your keybinding.ini file.

go to documents, bioware, dragon age, settings folder. Look for a file called KeyBindings.ini and open it up with notepad.

in notepad go to edit, then click find. type in screenshot. and then click search/find

that should take you to a part of the file that looks like this.

Screenshot_0=Keyboard::Button_Sysrq
Screenshot_1=(UNASSIGNED)

make sure that it looks like that, and if it doesnt, then edit it so that it does. (sysrq btw, is the prt scrn key without the shift key)

If thats not it, I'm afraid that I'm at a loss :sad:

edit- just noticed that you had reset that key for the screenshot. sorry, my bad. if need to, edit that so that it looks like this

 Screenshot_0=Keyboard::Keyboard::Button_F12
Screenshot_1=(UNASSIGNED)

Also make sure that your fkey lock is on, on your keyboard itself :wink: Not all of them have/use one, but some do.

Also while you are in that file, check to make sure that NO OTHER KEY is set to use F12. As you could have a conflict there that is causing the problem.

Hello,

I just stumbled over the same problem per accident (making my own logo-pictures for installed Mods, that doesn't have one):

If you disable everything according the Online-features, the screenshot is not taken. So enable at least something like "automatically download old content" (don't know, how it calls exactly in English).

It seems, the the Screenshot-feature is bound closely to the Online-features, and the game don't like to take screenshots, if all these features are disabled... hm... (I would say typical EA - as they love to control as much as they can about players behaviour, stealthed as easy to use service - The reason for me, to disable most of the online-features :wink: )

Regards

VERY very interesting info Roana. Thanks much for sharing that!

Hrm, it sounds as if they tied it in with the way that the game can automatically upload pics/screenshots to the site server. I guess if you close off all connections, it shuts off the screenshot function. Thats just a guess tho. Thats pretty sad, really.

I also found out earlier that some mods that are configured to work with Awakening, lose some of their compatibility with 1.02. I upgraded All Can Learn earlier, and it blocked out several of my mods, and crippled combat sound effects (totally turned them off). Had to uninstall it and reinstall an earlier version to get it back to normal.

So if you've upgraded some of your mods to newer versions, that could be a potential cause.

Postcount 100! Congrats Chibi! :biggrin:

I hope that you get it working, that would be aggrivating to not be able to capture some of the moments in the game (especially to somebody like me, who likes posting in the pictures section!)

Good luck!
