Custom Player Skin Texture - Possible?

.. I was wondering if it is possible to make the player character use a different skin texture?

I don't know how to best explain this, but I'll try:

All the races are divided into subfolders, but there is no seperate folder for the player.

So if I, say, want my dark elf character to have a big tatoo on his back, and I edit the texture - all the dark elves get the same tatoo..

I know there is a mod out, that lets you have custom eyes. It must be possible for character textures as well?

 

I tried the search button, but nothing came up.
