jedimarine
I got the GOTY dvd last fall, between that and mods, I have never felt the need to get the other official DLCs. Shivering Isles and KOTN are important, Shivering Isles in particular because it's additions are often used in other mods. If you can get GOTY Deluxe for a comparable price to the GOTY dvd, it's more content for your money. If it's a significant price difference, regular GOTY is just fine, and mods more then make up for the DLCs
razorpony
Also wasn't there an issue with the Steam version not being able to run OBSE properly? Was that ever fixed? OBSE is practically a necessity anymore for a lot of mods. -Razorpony
Pronam
...No idea, I actually haven't used it yet since I got this version. I'll check out tomorrow.I have heard it before yes, concerning the latest version. If you can get GOTY Deluxe for a comparable price to the GOTY dvd, it's more content for your money. The difference is +25%. I took the bait none the less. I'll probably mod them eventually, so it offers me a bunch of resources.
bben46
There are special install instruction with OBSE that allow it to be used with steam. However, not with the Direct2Disk version.
MonsterHunterMaster
lol, I have normal oblivion, then normal shivering isles and the oblivion goty edition at home...Now should I buy another goty deluxe for all the dlc's or can I get only the DLC's somewhere? O_o
bben46
Bethesda has really dropped the ball on the downloadable buyable DLCs. As far as I know they are now only available through steam - only with their super duper all included deluxe Oblivion GOTY. All except Battlehorn Castle are available on the stand alone (not part of the GOTY) disk version of Knights of the Nine. I have seen used KOTN disks on sale for US$5. and new for US$
MonsterHunterMaster
 Seems like I'll have to get the knights of the nine edition with the dlc's...I don't want to buy (another) goty version, so I don't care about this one dlc (Battlehorn Castle). So instead of buying the normal goty version I shoulda spent my money on normal oblivion + the seperate add-ons..would have been cheaper..
