alonsomartinez
This is how you should set up your mod folder structure MyMod(this is the folder where you place everything inside) 1. MyMod.esp (the esp) 2. Meshes 2a. MyMod (Inside the meshes folder is the MyMod folder. This is so when people want to remove your mod they only have to delete the MyMod folder instead of hunt down the meshes) 3. Textures 3a. MyMod (same thing as above) 4. MyModReadme.txt (installation instructions, how to uninstall, what the mod does, etc) Download TES4FILES a great tool it does all the work for you even putting all your meshes and textures into a neat folder and don't forget to fix hard coded textures
Khet
It's best if you learn how manually first. TES4Files doesn't get all the files called by a mod. Try playing a sound or .bik via script. The program won't pick up on it. Know the "standardized" hierarchy beforehand resolves this problem. But yes, TES4Files is nice for most uses when it comes to meshes/textures/voiced dialogue. Pineapplerum
Hi Khet, Thank you for explaining that to me. I'm bookmarking this link so I can refer back to it when I'm ready to upload the mod. I'll probably have questions to ask when the time comes. The one that comes to mind is how do I upload the mesh itself? I upload the finished mesh connected with the object under the new ID I gave it? I guess I would just copy and paste the object into a folder? And that would be under the mesh folder inside a folder that I've given MyMod name to. (Or my mod's name to.)Sorry if that's a stupid question. I'm sure there's a tutorial around on this site somewhere on how to do it. I'll have to hunt it down and read it before uploading my mod. Thanks again.
