Intro Menu Problems

Recommended Posts

This has just happened overnight and I've not installed anything new from the last time I played Oblivion (which worked fine) to the discovery of this problem.

What happens is, whenever I go to play Oblivion in 1280x768 (widescreen) in fullscreen, the Oblivion loading screen won't show, and then the menu will load. The music and background will load fine, but the clickable options and the main title don't show. and neither does the cursor. I need to initiate a CTD in order to get out of it, by pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL and opening up task manager. I need to do that twice because the first time end up in a black screen with no cursor. On the second time, I get a message saying Oblivion has stopped responding and needs to be closed.

But;

Whenever I load it up in windowed, it loads fine. I've tried alternative resolutions, which achieve the same result; Fine in windowed, but won't work in fullscreen.

I doubt it is a conflict with a mod, because I've disabled them all via OBMM and I still get the problem. I've tried all sorts of different graphics settings to no avail.

Just for extra info;

I run a Packard Bell BV IMEDIA X2414 PB80128501

2.40 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad Q6600

3072 MB of RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT Graphics card

Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2

Thanks in advance for you help.

I've had this problem about week ago, after i instaled OBGE. Solved this problem with deleting obgev2.dll. But after reinstallation I get this bug again so i deleted my oblivion.ini and evry thing was fine.

Any way try it. But remember to backup your current oblivion.ini, so you wont blame me that i've ruined hours of game tweakinghttp://thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/Dark/biggrin.gif
